Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking PCU RNs for per diem shifts in Virginia. Shifts run 7a–7p or 7p–7a with the freedom to pick assignments and build a schedule that fits your life.

Expected duties include monitoring patients, administering medications and IV therapies, and coordinating with care teams while maintaining accurate EMRs in fast-paced hospital settings.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current AHA ACLS certification.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.

PCU RN Requirements

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current AHA BLS

• Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment
