Job summary

Methodist ER New Braunfels seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with providers and the care team. You will use established nursing models to educate patients and families, advocate for patients, and support optimal outcomes and a positive patient experience.

You will perform procedures, document care promptly, and respond to requests while anticipating needs and promoting safety at every step.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or equivalent within 1 year.
• RN license with at least 6 months of experience.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or PALS within 90 days.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management.
• Perform procedures and document care in the medical record promptly.
• Respond to patient requests and anticipate needs to resolve issues.
• Teach patients and families about conditions, plan, medications and follow-up.
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures and self-management.
