Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our inpatient teams. Under general supervision, you will provide direct patient care, develop and implement nursing plans, administer medications and IV therapies, and coordinate discharge planning.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate Degree in Nursing, MD RN license, CPR certification, and one year of RN experience; ACLS/PALS/NRP are required on hire for specialty areas.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited school required.
• Current RN registration with Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses.
• Healthcare Provider CPR biennial.
• One year of RN experience required.
• Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) required upon hire for specialty care areas.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs and formulate nursing diagnoses.
• Plan and update a written nursing care plan.
• Coordinate patient, family, and health team for discharge planning.
• Administer medications and IV therapy and initiate emergency procedures.
• Document and communicate patient status to physicians and team.
• Delegate to and supervise ancillary staff as needed.
• Teach patient and family and participate in discharge planning.
