Job summary

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care for all age groups within the assigned unit.

The RN will supervise licensed practical nurses and assist with direct patient care under Medical Staff direction, aligned with the hospital's mission and goals. Qualified candidates will have graduated from an accredited nursing program, hold a Texas RN license, and possess BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• No experience required.
• Current RN license in the State of Texas is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Unit specific competencies obtained within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Uses a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care after assessing patient health status.
• Delegates tasks to unlicensed personnel considering patient safety and staff competence.
• Administers medications and treatments safely, understanding their rationale and effects.
• Maintains thorough documentation of patient care and unit activities.
• Clarifies any order or treatment regimen when it may be inaccurate or contraindicated.
• Implements nursing interventions to stabilize conditions and prevent complications.
