St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse for the NICU on a part-time basis (7PM–7:30AM). The role requires delivering nursing care using the Nursing Process and collaborating with the healthcare team to meet patient needs.

Ideal candidates hold a NJ RN license, a BSN preferred, and must complete orientation and BLS/NRP certifications within the first year; additional certifications (NRP, ACLS, PALS) are expected as noted.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
Licensure required as a Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey.
Successful completion of orientation and department-specific certifications within 1 year of hire (BLS and NRP).
Advance Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification is required or within 6 months of hire.
BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association are required.

Responsibilities

Utilize Nursing Process to plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
Collaborate with the care team to support patient and family needs in the NICU.

Job Description

Responsible for utilizing the Nursing Process in a collaborative manner to plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in accordance with his/her scope of practice. The RN supports the goals and philosophy of the Department of Nursing within the St. Joseph's Healthcare System and on his/her assigned unit.

Qualifications

Knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Licensure required as a Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey. Successful completion of department specific orientation and department specific certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 1 year of hire.

Effective July 1, 2021 Advance Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire through the American Heart Association.Effective January 2019, St. Joseph’s Health requires certifications for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to be granted through the American Heart Association.
