Job summary

Ascension is seeking a dedicated PACU RN to join our staffing team in a postoperative care setting. Positions are available in Milwaukee, WI or Tulsa, OK with day shifts and 36–40 hours per week. Expect a gross rate up to $2,620 per week and pro-rated PTO/holidays as part of a comprehensive benefits package.

You will provide expert management of post-surgical airway management, emergent care, analgesia titration, and meticulous hand-offs to ensure safe recovery for patients.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensure required prior to hire or transfer.
• ACLS or higher required within 6 months; BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage post-surgical airways and emergence from anesthesia.
• Identify and treat post-op complications including hemodynamic instability.
• Titrate analgesics and antiemetics using Aldrete scoring.
• Perform high-quality hand-offs and coordinate discharge for safe recovery.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Rapid identification and treatment of post-op complications, including hemodynamic instability.
• Precise titration of analgesics and anti-emetics based on objective Aldrete scores.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Preferred Credential(s):

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

What additional preferences we're seeking

• 1+ year of acute care experience
• 3 years of recent PACU experience
• Applicable license and/or certification per contract requirements required
