Registered Nurse, PACU/SDS

To assess, evaluate, implement, collect data, document, monitor, and administer pre- and post-operative medications to all surgical patients. Directs the care delivered by licensed and unlicensed clinicians. Assists physicians with procedures. Prioritizes care for all types of surgical patients.

The successful candidate:

  • Must be able to work full-time Monday-Friday 0730-1600 with required call rotation.
  • Provides individualized care to geriatric and adult patients and their families within a relationship-based care model.
  • Develops individualized plans of care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Independently guides nursing practice and evaluates patient-specific outcomes.
  • Ensures clinically excellent outcomes through effective delegation and independent judgment.
  • Uses effective communication to support a culture of caring and healing, with the patient and family as central focus.
  • Addresses physical, spiritual, emotional, and educational needs, coordinating care with the healthcare team.
  • Assesses, evaluates, implements, collects data, documents, monitors, and administers pre- and post-operative medications for surgical patients.
  • Directs care delivered by licensed and unlicensed clinicians.
  • Assists physicians with procedures.
  • Prioritizes care for all surgical patients.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • 1-2 years of acute care experience.
  • Graduate of NLNAC or CCNE-accredited School of Nursing, licensed in the state of practice.
  • BLS certification maintained during employment.
  • OCN Certification within 18 months of hire or 36 CE credits in Oncology every 3-year Cancer Committee cycle, with 12 CE credits annually (Surgical Services exempt).
  • ACLS certification upon hire or by end of orientation, maintained throughout employment.
  • Telemetry experience: recognize cardiac arrhythmias and institute interventions.
  • Ability to respond to the hospital within 60 minutes.
