The successful candidate:
Must be able to work full-time Monday-Friday 0730-1600 with required call rotation.
Provide individualized care to geriatric and adult patients and their families within a relationship-based care framework.
Develop an individualized plan of care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Independently guide nursing practice and evaluate patient-specific outcomes.
Inspire clinical excellence through effective delegation and exercise of independent judgment.
Use effective communication to foster a culture of caring and healing, with the patient and family as central focus.
Address physical, spiritual, emotional, and educational needs of patients, coordinating care with other healthcare professionals, patients, support persons, and team members.
Assess, evaluate, implement, collect data, document, monitor, and administer pre- and post-operative medications for all surgical patients.
Direct care delivery by licensed and unlicensed clinicians.
Assist physicians with procedures.
Prioritize care for all surgical patient types.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
1-2 years of acute care experience
Graduation from an NLNAC or CCNE-accredited School of Nursing, and licensure in the state of practice
Maintain BLS certification while in this position
Obtain OCN Certification within 18 months of hire, or complete 36 CE credits in Oncology every 3-year Cancer Commission cycle, with 12 CE credits annually (Surgical Services exempt)
Obtain ACLS certification upon hire or by end of orientation, and maintain it while in position
Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and institute appropriate interventions (Telemetry)
Be able to respond to the hospital within 60 minutes
