Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO seeks a Part-Time RN to join the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit). The role supports patient care using the nursing process with accountability for assigned patients and coordination with other departments.

Shift is Days; 8 hours every two weeks, with the PACU team ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. The ideal candidate has 1+ year PACU RN experience, Missouri RN licensure or compact licensure, and is prepared to meet BLS requirements;

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of RN PACU experience is preferred.
• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN license in Missouri or compact state; must obtain and maintain license and meet state board requirements.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or acquire within 30 days of hire; additional certifications may be required based on unit.

Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Status: Part-Time - 8 hours/2 week pay period

Qualifications:

• Experience: At least 1 year of RN PACU experience is preferred.
• Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Current RN license within the state of Missouri and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed. Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining license. Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.

• • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Other unit specific certifications as required.
• Other:Physical requirements/demands:
  • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
