Job summary

SurgCenter of the Potomac is seeking a PRN PACU Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive care to patients waking from anesthesia. You will monitor status, ensure safety and privacy, and support discharge planning in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Required qualifications include an accredited RN program graduate, Maryland RN license, BLS and ACLS (PALS if required), plus 2 years in PACU or critical care. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
• Active RN license in Maryland.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by center.
• 2 years PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient and family needs for discharge.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques as appropriate.

PACU Registered Nurse at SurgCenter of the Potomac

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state of Maryland
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Pay Range- Min: $39.93 to Max: $52.00
