Job summary

Novant Health in Wilmington, NC seeks a PACU registered nurse for night shift to support post-anesthesia care at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

You will manage patient recovery, monitor vitals, administer care, and collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe transfers to appropriate units. RN licensure in NC and BLS required; BSN preferred; one year of acute nursing experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• RN must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• A BSN is preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the appropriate state is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide PACU nursing care for post-anesthesia patients.
• Monitor patient vitals and recovery status.
• Advocate for patients and ensure a smooth recovery transition.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to coordinate transfers to appropriate units.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Bachelor's degree (BSN) preferred

RN licensure in appropriate state

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

What We Offer

• Schedule: Full Time, 7:00pm-7:00am
• Department: PACU

What You’ll Do

• Extremely High Functioning
• Average between 80-110 Operating Room cases a day
• Active recovery, step-down and floor status
• Advocate for patients and ensure a smooth recovery transition

What We’re Looking For

• Education:
  - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  - If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience:One year of acute nursing experience required.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  - Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
  - Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
