Job summary

AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, FL is hiring a Registered Nurse for direct patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will assess, monitor, and communicate patient status, ensuring safe, continuous care across pediatric to geriatric patients.

Required: Associate degree or Diploma in Nursing, Florida RN/APRn license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, NIHSS, and 1 year PACU/critical care experience. Full-time, day shift with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or diploma in nursing required at hire.
• Minimum of 1 year PACU/critical care experience on hire.
• Active Florida RN or APRN license required on hire.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications or RQI required on hire.
• Current NIHSS required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across geriatric to pediatric patients in PACU.
• Assess and reassess patient conditions with critical thinking when post-op changes occur.
• Communicate patient information clearly to the care team for seamless handoffs.
• Monitor and interpret all patient monitoring devices in the PACU competently.
• Document care using the nursing process to ensure accurate, timely records.

Job Description:

• Participates in direct patient care across geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric populations, analyzing and interpreting patient-specific information to assess and reassess individual nursing care plans.
• Demonstrates critical thinking skills when interpreting changes in patients' immediate post-operative conditions.
• Communicates patient information to all appropriate caregivers to ensure effective continuum of care.
• Manages and interprets all patient monitoring devices in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) environment competently.
• Provides accurate, timely documentation, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver competent, effective, cost-efficient patient care.

Qualifications:

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• MinimumAssociate Degreeor Diploma in Nursing upon hire
• Minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a PACU or critical care setting upon hire
• Active Florida RN or APRN license required upon hire.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or RQI upon hire.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification or RQI upon hire
• Current American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or RQI upon hire
• Current NIHSS upon hire

Pay Range:

$31.85 - $52.76
