Job summary

AdventHealth in Tarpon Springs, FL is seeking an RN for the PACU to provide direct patient care across geriatric, adult, adolescent and pediatric populations. You will assess and adjust care plans based on patient data and respond to changes in postoperative conditions.

You will document using the nursing process, monitor PACU devices, communicate with caregivers, maintain infection control, and support equipment and supply needs while contributing to unit policies and performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong nursing skills required for PACU/acute care.
• Experience with patient monitoring and post‑operative care.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).

Responsibilities

• Participates in direct patient care across geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric populations.
• Interprets patient information to assess and revise nursing care plans.
• Communicates patient information to caregivers for continuity of care.
• Manages and interprets all patient monitoring devices in the PACU.
• Documents using the nursing process to deliver competent, cost-efficient care.
• Participates in revision/review of unit policies and performance improvement.
• Maintains infection control measures and safe patient environment.
• Assists in care and maintenance of equipment and stocking of supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Participates in direct patient care across geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric populations, analyzing and interpreting patient‑specific information to assess and reassess individual nursing care plans. Demonstrates critical thinking skills when interpreting changes in patients' immediate post‑operative conditions. Communicates patient information to all appropriate caregivers to ensure effective continuum of care. Manages and interprets all patient monitoring devices in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) environment competently. Provides accurate, timely documentation, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver competent, effective, cost‑efficient patient care. Participates in the revision and review of unit‑specific policies and procedures, actively engaging in unit goals and performance improvement. Maintains appropriate infection control measures and ensures a safe patient environment. Assists in the care and maintenance of equipment and stocks the unit with supplies. Other duties as assigned.
