Job summary

AdventHealth in New Smyrna Beach, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse to participate in direct patient care across geriatric to pediatric populations in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. You will analyze patient information to assess and adjust nursing care plans and communicate critical data to the care team.

You will monitor PACU devices, document using the nursing process, support infection control, and help maintain a safe, well-equipped unit.

Qualifications

• Computer proficiency required.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Advanced IV skills preferred.
• Experience with a medical records system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in direct patient care across geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric populations and develops care plans.
• Interprets changes in patients' post-operative conditions and communicates with caregivers.
• Monitors and interprets PACU monitoring devices.
• Provides accurate, timely documentation using the nursing process.
• Participates in policy review and performance improvement.
• Maintains infection control and a safe patient environment.
• Assists with equipment maintenance and stock.

Job Description:

Participates in direct patient care across geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric populations, analyzing and interpreting patient-specific information to assess and reassess individual nursing care plans. Demonstrates critical thinking skills when interpreting changes in patients' immediate post-operative conditions. Communicates patient information to all appropriate caregivers to ensure effective continuum of care. Manages and interprets all patient monitoring devices in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) environment competently. Provides accurate, timely documentation, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver competent, effective, cost-efficient patient care. Participates in the revision and review of unit-specific policies and procedures, actively engaging in unit goals and performance improvement. Maintains appropriate infection control measures and ensures a safe patient environment. Assists in the care and maintenance of equipment and stocks the unit with supplies. Other duties as assigned.

• 1+ years experience as a Registered Nurse in a PACU or critical care setting [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
