Job summary

Heritage Valley Sewickley is seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality postoperative care. You will monitor patient recovery, administer medications, and coordinate with surgical teams to ensure safe discharge from the PACU.

The ideal candidate has valid Pennsylvania nursing license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS; recent PACU or critical care experience is preferred. Flexibility with on-call shifts and varied start times is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing.
• Current Pennsylvania nursing licensure; other state licensure as required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• PALS (must obtain within 12 months of start date).
• One year of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in the PACU as indicated by the Nurse Practice Act.
• Monitor patient recovery, administer meds, and coordinate care with surgical teams.
• Participate in on-call and possibly late shifts as required.
• Complete applicable clearances within 90 days of employment.

Work Hours: Casual. Monday thru Friday 10 Hour shifts starting anywhere from 0730-0900

Provides professional nursing care practicing legal nursing responsibilities as indicated by the Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, current Pennsylvania licensure, other state licensure as required. Basic Cardiac Life Support. Advanced Cardiac Life Support. PALS (must obtain within one year of start date). Based on operational needs, on-call and late shifts may be required. One year current Critical Care or current PACU experience. In the absence of applicants with one year current experience, will accept recent PACU or CCU experience within the past 5 years.

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

Certification in this specialty area.
