Job summary

South Kansas City Surgicenter is seeking a Part Time PACU Nurse (RN) to join a close-knit, highly collaborative perioperative team. You will advocate for patients under anesthesia or sedation and provide critical support in the PACU.

The role requires current RN licensure, BLS and ACLS certificates on hire, plus prior Critical Care or PACU experience. CCRN and BSN are preferred. Part-time, day shifts, on-site at the surgical center.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate due within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience required.
• CCRN preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process in the PACU scope.
• Coordinate postoperative care with surgeon and anesthesiologist.
• Communicate with physician about changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality care and efficient flow.
• Adhere to regulations, standards and unit policies.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings.
• Act as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.

We are seeking a Part Time PACU Nurse ( RN), to join our growing team. You will be a part of a close-knit, highly collaborative operating room team & an essential member of the perioperative team, who advocates for patients that are under anesthesia and/or sedation

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all patients within the PACU scope of services.
• The Registered Nurse also coordinates the post-operative care of the patient with the surgeon and anesthesiologist, directs and guides other personnel while maintaining standards of care in the PACU.
• He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology.
• Works with other departments and co-workers to provide quality patient care across the continuum, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization.
• Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
• Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services.
• Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.

• ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience required
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
