Job summary

Alliance Staffing Solutions LLC in Dayton, OH is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU to care for pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia in an acute-care hospital setting. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of acute pediatric nursing, EPIC EMR experience, BLS, and strong assessment skills.

This role offers a competitive pay rate of $55–$60 per hour with flexible scheduling options including full-time, part-time, and PRN.

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
• Minimum 3 years of recent acute pediatric nursing experience.
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience.
• PALS certification preferred/required based on facility requirements.
• Strong pediatric assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute-care hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Monitor patients' vital signs, respiratory status, neurological status, pain level, and overall condition.
• Closely monitor patients for post-anesthesia complications and changes in clinical status.
• Assess and maintain airway and respiratory function during the recovery period.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Manage post-operative pain, nausea, vomiting, and other post-anesthesia symptoms.
• Monitor surgical sites, dressings, drains, and other post-operative conditions.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document patient care accurately in Epic EMR.
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to physicians, anesthesiologists, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, pediatric specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding post-operative care and discharge instructions.
• Ensure patients meet established recovery criteria before transfer or discharge.
• Maintain patient safety and follow infection-control, medication-safety, and hospital policies.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations and rapidly changing patient conditions.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have strong acute pediatric nursing experience, excellent clinical assessment skills, and experience working with Epic EMR in an acute-care hospital setting.

Required Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
• Minimum 3 years of recent acute pediatric nursing experience.
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience.
• Recent PACU, perioperative, pediatric critical care, PICU, or other relevant acute pediatric experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• PALS certification preferred/required based on facility requirements.
• Strong pediatric assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to recognize and respond quickly to changes in pediatric patient condition.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute-care hospital environment.

Compensation
