Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the outpatient Pacemaker/Device Clinic. In this role you will care for patients with implanted cardiac devices, perform in-clinic and remote device checks, and coordinate with electrophysiologists to optimize device settings.

You will educate patients, document in the EHR, and support pre- and post-procedure care while ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and team goals.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing; BSN or ADN.
• BLS provider certification required prior to hire.
• Current Registered Nurse License State of Illinois.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-clinic and remote device checks/interrogations for pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT devices.
• Analyze and interpret device data, identifying abnormalities such as arrhythmias and lead issues.
• Collaborate with electrophysiologists to adjust device settings based on patient condition.
• Monitor remote transmissions and respond to alerts in a timely manner.
• Educate patients and families on device function, care, and troubleshooting.
• Provide pre- and post-procedure support for device implantation or follow-up visits.
• Document findings and care plans accurately in the EHR.
• Coordinate care and follow-ups, including scheduling device checks.
• Triage patient concerns related to cardiac devices and symptoms.
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and quality standards.
• Support clinic operations and patient throughput.

Education

RN license (Illinois) or current license to practice as an RN in Illinois

BSN or ADN diploma from accredited nursing program

You will work closely with electrophysiologists and a multidisciplinary team to support patient monitoring, education, and ongoing device management.

What you will do:

• Perform in-clinic and remote device checks/interrogations for pacemakers, ICDs, and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices
• Analyze and interpret device data, identifying abnormalities such as arrhythmias, battery status, and lead integrity issues
• Collaborate with electrophysiologists and cardiologists to adjust device settings based on patient condition and provider recommendations
• Monitor remote transmissions and respond to alerts in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families on device function, care, and troubleshooting
• Provide pre- and post-procedure support for device implantation or follow-up visits
• Document findings, care plans, and patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Coordinate care and follow-ups, including scheduling device checks and ensuring continuity of care
• Triage patient concerns related to cardiac devices and symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, or syncope
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, quality initiatives, and regulatory standards
• Support clinic operations, including workflow efficiency and patient throughput

What you will need:

• A Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing is required - BSN or ADN
• BLS provider (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire
• Current Registered Nurse License State of Illinois
• 1-2 years of previous experience in a clinical setting.

Compensation

Salary Range: $35.89 - $62.91 per hour. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
