Job description

Mercy Wound Care Center is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN)

Position: Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, no holidays.

Overview:

Under the direction of the Outpatient Wound Care Center clinical nurse manager/clinical coordinator, the RN primarily provides patient care, handles intake and discharge processes, and may serve as a Case Manager for assigned patients, depending on the center's setup. All employees must adhere to hospital policies, accreditation standards, federal and state regulations, and CMS guidelines.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  1. Provides patient care at the Outpatient Wound Care Center, including intake and discharge processes.
  2. Serves as a Case Manager for a group of patients, performing initial nursing assessments, communicating with physicians, assessing wounds, documenting care plans, evaluating patient outcomes, and identifying intervention needs.
  3. Participates in quality improvement, educates patients and caregivers, and advocates for patients.
  4. May perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties after completing a 40-hour introductory HBO course.
  5. Collaborates with healthcare providers, the program director, and the medical director regarding patient and clinic needs.
  6. Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice, maintaining licensure as required.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.
