The position will be based in the Cancer Center in the Hope Tower at JSUMC, which provides a new healing outpatient experience guided by a patient-centered approach and informed by the latest medical breakthroughs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing practices based on the latest evidence, policies, and standards to ensure safe, individualized patient care.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients, colleagues, and the healthcare team regarding patient status and care plans.
• Administer medications using advanced bar-scanning and documentation technology to ensure safety.
• Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations electronically at the point of care.
• Provide patient and family education to promote health, wellness, and disease management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary discharges to ensure safe transition and continuum of care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association.
• At least 1 year of oncology nursing experience; ambulatory infusion experience preferred.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred; ONS chemo/bio certification preferred (must obtain within 3 months).
• BSN preferred.
• Willingness to work 10-hour shifts.
• Strong ability to adapt, a sense of accountability, teamwork, dedication to education, and a passion for high-quality patient care are essential.

The starting pay is for informational purposes and may vary based on experience, education, skills, location, and organizational factors.
