Minimum experience required: at least 2 years, primarily on a surgical unit, with orthopedic experience preferred. Candidates with 1+ years of acute care MS experience will also be considered.

Travelers are first to float to other acute care units, starting with SOI 5 (Med/Surg) if needed, then to other units.

Most patients are postoperative elective orthopedic surgery patients; some are fracture patients from the emergency department.

The Swedish Orthopedic Institute (SOI) is part of the First Hill Campus of Swedish Medical Center, connected by a skybridge, sharing ancillary services. The nursing environment is excellent, with private rooms, computers, and overhead lifts. Rooms are spacious and suitable for orthopedic patients.

SOI 3/4 comprises Orthopedics (two units). Candidates with strong surgical experience do well, but MS nurses with strong ortho experience are also accepted.

SOI 5 is Med/Surg.

Scrubs are professional in appearance; no specific color or pattern required.

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

Overtime Multiplier: 1.3% for 40 hours/week

Call Back: 1.3%
