Position Overview

This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The nurse collaborates with healthcare team members, promotes patient safety, and participates in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans, involving patients and families in the process.
  2. Recognize and respond to significant changes in patient conditions, adjusting care plans accordingly.
  3. Implement safety strategies and assess patient and family learning needs.
  4. Coordinate discharge planning with an interdisciplinary team and apply evidence-based practices.
  5. Evaluate outcomes and support process improvements and shared governance activities.
  6. Communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and demonstrate leadership within the care team.
  7. Maintain a culture of safety by identifying and reporting safety threats and incidents.
  8. Participate in ethical decision-making and uphold professional standards.
  9. Engage in ongoing professional development and departmental activities.
Minimum Requirements
