Job summary

A healthcare organization in Rocky Hill, CT, is seeking a full-time Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide expert nursing care during outpatient ophthalmic surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have an active RN license in Connecticut, a minimum of 2 years of OR experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, and strong communication skills. This role offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits, including medical, dental, and generous PTO. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years OR experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• BLS and ACLS Certifications required.
• Knowledge of anesthetic agents and emergency handling.
• Able to communicate effectively, and have an ability to work compatibly with all physicians and staff
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Possess strong organizational skills, and a clear understanding of the importance of efficiency and cost effectiveness in an ambulatory surgery center
• Knowledge and clinical skills to perform the job duties of an OR RN
• A strong knowledge of aseptic technique, anesthetic agents and complications, and the ability to handle emergency situations
• Must have an aptitude for understanding, use of, and troubleshooting machines and equipment.
• Experience with Ophthalmic procedures a plus
• Ability to scrub cases a plus

Position Summary:
The Operating Room RN provides expert professional nursing care for the patient during the OR course. Special Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

• Standing or walking most of the day. Sufficient mobility and strength to move throughout department and lift heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• May be exposed to blood, sharp objects, and infectious diseases
• May be required to wear personal protection equipment for lengthy periods of time.
