The role you’ll contribute:

Directs, manages, and provides care and safety for patients in the Operating Room, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Assesses individual patient and procedure needs, anticipates the surgical team’s needs, and maintains an aseptic and safe environment. Practice ranges from preoperative assessment to intraoperative intervention and postoperative evaluation. Provides leadership and direction to care team members and represents the Nursing Department professionally and courteously.

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate patient care needs for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Safely administers medications according to hospital policies, conducts second nurse verifications when required.
• Records, handles, and labels specimens accurately, demonstrating proper specimen care.
• Communicates effectively with physicians regarding all surgical items and documents accordingly.

Qualifications

• ADN, Diploma, and/or BSN
• EMR charting experience
• Current Registered Nurse license in Florida
• Current Basic Life Support Certification
• Minimum of one year experience in the Operating Room
