Role Overview:

The Registered Nurse - OR Circulator collaborates with surgical teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care throughout the surgical process.

Responsibilities Include

• Advocating for patients before, during, and after surgery.
• Monitoring and assessing patient condition; documenting vital signs and care details.
• Preparing the operating room, instruments, supplies, and medications.
• Verifying patient identity, surgical site, and documentation compliance.
• Maintaining a sterile environment and assisting with patient positioning.
• Communicating effectively with the surgical team and coordinating patient transfers post-surgery.
• Ensuring infection control standards, participating in quality improvement, and assisting with room turnover.
• Participating in rotating call duties and adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Must have an accredited nursing degree, active RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications. Strong critical-thinking, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills are essential. Previous OR experience and knowledge of perioperative procedures are preferred.

Physical & Work Environment:

Ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist with patient positioning; work in a sterile environment with exposure to bodily fluids and surgical hazards. Work is performed mainly in the operating room, requiring adherence to safety protocols and PPE usage.
