Job summary

Jefferson City Medical Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (Operating Room) for our Surgery Center in Jefferson City, MO. This on-site role requires current MO RN licensure and BCLS/ACLS (or willingness to obtain ACLS within 6 months).

You will participate in preop/postop care, maintain sterile technique, and support perioperative teams with patient safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• ADN or BSN degree required.
• Prefer 2 years of operating room experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates appropriate assessment of the patient and documents appropriately.
• Plans patient care to achieve optimal level of function based on nursing assessment, diagnoses, and/or medical treatment.
• Implements patient care according to planned interventions and documents according to policy.
• Evaluates patient status in relation to established goals and desired outcomes and revises plan as indicated.
• Demonstrates behaviors that promote professionalism, utilizing the principle of quality improvement.
• Serves as a professional resource when needed, including assisting in co-worker training and orientation.
• Demonstrates understanding of role in all areas of conscious sedation and medication administration.
• Demonstrates customer relations as high priority in line with JCMG mission, vision and values.
• Provides appropriate safety and infection control measures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• ADN or BSN degree

Experience:

• Prefer 2-years of experience in the operating room setting

Certification/License:

• RN license in the state of MO in good standing
• Current BCLS certification
• Current ACLS certification (or obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of employment)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working environment is generally favorable; however, there is exposure risk in the form of disease and potential for exposure to electrical and explosion hazards common in a surgical department environment. High potential for exposure to blood and body fluids; Personal protective equipment required.
