Job summary

Arnot Health’s Operating Room is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide perioperative care across the surgical team. The RN will support patient safety, sterile technique, and high-quality, compassionate care per nursing standards.

Requirements include an NYS RN license or eligibility, BLS, and ideally OR experience. BSN preferred with at least 1 year of OR exposure. Onsite role with standard rate pay and supportive team at Arnot Health.

Qualifications

• Registered professional nurse with current NYS license or eligible to obtain.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Previous OR Experience preferred.
• BSN preferred with at least 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate perioperative nursing care to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
• Provide direct intraoperative patient care while maintaining aseptic technique and adherence to surgical safety standards.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care throughout the surgical experience.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Promote quality, safety, and continuous improvement through compliance with policies, emergency preparedness, patient advocacy, and professional development activities.

Registered Nurse Operating Room

The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides direct perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. Working collaboratively with the surgical team, the RN ensures patient safety, maintains a sterile environment, and delivers high-quality, compassionate care while adhering to professional nursing standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

Physical Requirements:

Appreciable physical effort required; lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving patients of various size, capabilities and abilities. Some lifting, reaching, and stooping. Required to be on feet much of the time.

Per Diem Day/Evening Pay Range Disclosure:

Standard Rate of $46.50 per hour
