Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an OR RN for Milford, MA. The role requires thorough nursing knowledge and OR experience; Massachusetts nursing licensure and BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP as appropriate for area assignments are required. The position offers a non-exempt, 40-hour work week with rotating shifts.

Holidays and scheduled hours align with a full-time operating room schedule. A signing bonus may be available. This is a unionized role with MNA Milford Regional Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS through AHA or ARC required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled offering.
• PALS required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled offering.
• NRP Advanced Provider required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled offering.
• BSN highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.

Hiring Range:

$37.75 - $79.52 (based on a full time schedule of 40 hours per week).

Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Holidays - Every Other Holiday, Monday through Friday, Weekends (Saturday and Sunday)

Scheduled Hours: 06:50-17:20; 06:35-19:05

Shift: 1 - Day Shift, 12 Hours (United States of America)

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
2. BLS through either American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is a requirement for every RN within 30 days of hire.
3. ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Endo, IR, PACU, Float Pool) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
4. PALS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (PACU, ED) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.
5. NRP Advanced Provider through American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) required in select areas (Maternity) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.

Preferred:

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.

Required:

1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an eligible combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
