Job summary

Bristol Hospital and Health Care in Bristol, CT is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our ambulatory surgery center team. In this perioperative role, you will circulate for a variety of cases, from General to Orthopedics, and support pre- and post-operative patient care.

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, you will collaborate with surgical teams, ensure patient safety, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Active Connecticut RN license is required.
• CPR/BLS certification is required.
• ASN in Nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• 1 year of perioperative/ circulating nurse experience.

Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the operating nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a place of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family. In this role you will be working with patients in a busy Ambulatory Surgery center who cares for both the inpatient and outpatient population. You will possess the ability to care for patients in the pre-operative and post-operative care setting.
