The Operating Room (OR) Circulator - Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients in the OR of the Surgery Center.
This full-time position operates Monday to Friday between 5:00 am and 5:00 pm at our Plymouth Orthopedic Surgery Center.

Essential Functions:
- Assess instrumentation, supply, and equipment needs based on scheduled procedures, patient needs, and physician preferences.
- Prepare surgical suites and obtain necessary equipment and supplies.
- Maintain an aseptic environment throughout the intraoperative process.
- Assist with selecting supplies and instrumentation per surgeon preferences.
- Provide age-appropriate care considering the psychological, physiological, and spiritual needs of patients.
- Develop and revise individualized care plans based on nursing assessments and surgical requirements.
- Monitor and document patient conditions and responses, communicating with the team.
- Perform surgical counts and medication labeling as per policies.
- Administer medications and solutions as ordered.
- Handle surgical specimens and cultures appropriately and in compliance with policies.
- Support anesthesia personnel and assist patients psychologically and physiologically during surgery.
- Assist with cleaning the OR between cases and at day's end.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Follow correct site surgery procedures and adhere to all policies and standards of care.
- Evaluate post-operative patient status for injuries or hazards.
- Accurately complete patient records and charges in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize patient outcomes and ensure smooth surgical flow.
- Report incidents according to established processes.
- Participate in education and training, including mentoring or preceptorship roles.
- Help manage costs by resourceful use of supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an NLN-accredited nursing program.
- BSN preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
- Current RN licensure in MN or WI (multi-state license required).
- At least one year of OR experience in the past five years preferred.
- Membership in AORN preferred.
- Current BLS certification required or to be completed upon hire.
