Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking an experienced RN to join the Bayfront Operating Room team. The role requires circulating in multiple specialties, maintaining patient safety and delivering high-quality perioperative care in a fast-paced setting.

Candidates should have 2+ years of recent OR experience, California RN licensure, and prefer BSN and CNOR. Flexibility to oriented across UCSF locations and to scrub in multiple services is needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of RN clinical experience in an adult operating room/out-patient setting.
• Must be able to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
• Hold California RN license and knowledge essential to perform duties.
• Proficient in circulating OR cases across at least three listed services.

Responsibilities

• Provide circulating nurse coverage for ophthalmology, ENT, OHNS, urology, general surgery and related robotic cases.
• Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism and effective communication to support high quality patient care.
• Maintain patient safety, sterile technique and adherence to hospital policies.

The UCSF Bayfront Operating Room (OR) consists of 14 surgical suites and 2 procedural rooms with 23 hours surgical stay facility. Our primary focus is multidisciplinary team-based approach and staffing, advanced technology, including integrated suites and robotic surgery.

The UCSF Bayfront Operating Room (OR) consists of 14 surgical suites and 2 procedural rooms with 23 hours surgical stay facility. Our primary focus is multidisciplinary team-based approach and staffing, advanced technology, including integrated suites and robotic surgery.

Services include, but are not limited to: Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck (OHNS), Urology, Gynecology, Plastics, Pain Service, MIS Spine, General, OMFS, and Robotics.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum two years of recent RN clinical experience in an adult operation room in an out-patient setting.
• This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
• Possession of the legal requirements to practice as a Registered Nurse as determined by the California Board of Registered Nursing and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
• Proficiency ability to independently circulate all case types within at least three of the following services:Ophthalmology/Cornea/Retina,GYN/Robotic,GU/Robotic,GeneralSurgery/Robotic, OHNS/Airway, MIS SPINE.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

• BSN
• CNOR
• Proficient in Scrubbing role in at least 2 of the services listed above.
• ACLS;
• RN sedation

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
• Current healthcare provider CPR BLS or ACLS certification
