Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Iowa is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join a busy surgical team. You will provide high-quality intraoperative care in a fast-paced environment across our three Quad Cities campuses.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma from an RN program.
• Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
• Must maintain BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Delivers high quality intraoperative nursing care on assigned unit.
• Collaborates with surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Documents care accurately and promptly in patient records.
• Participates in professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assists in education and resources for the hospital team.

Across our three Quad Cities campuses, Surgical Services includes 16 operating rooms, two dedicated open-heart suites, and two specialized urology rooms, supporting specialties such as cardiothoracic, vascular, robotics, orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, urology, podiatry, and cataract surgery. Responsibilities

• Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned unit in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.
• Consults appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.
• Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
• Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient's care.
• Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice by sharing knowledge through networking and research.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma from an RN program.
• License(s)/Certification(s): Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
• Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must possess and maintain ACLS
