Description

To act as a patient advocate, providing continuity of care designed to meet individual patient needs through collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. The staff nurse will assess the needs of patients, including adults, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics.

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited nursing program
• Registered nurse license in the state of the facility
• Minimum of three years of experience as a staff nurse

Essential Functions

• Perform assessments and data collection focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status
• Formulate goal-directed care plans based on nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes
• Implement care knowledgeably and skillfully to achieve patient outcomes
• Prioritize patient care based on needs and resource availability
• Respond efficiently in emergency situations following protocols
• Demonstrate knowledge in medical/surgical care, pain assessment, pharmaceuticals, safety, and legal issues
• Identify and resolve problems effectively for sound decision-making
• Accurately document patient care activities
• Work collaboratively within a team
• Maintain CPR/ACLS certification
• Attend mandatory training and staff meetings
• Be flexible and adaptable to new approaches
• Treat all patients with respect, adhering to Patient Rights policies
• Follow physician orders professionally
• Assist with other duties as needed

Physical Demands

Employees must frequently sit, converse, listen, handle objects, and reach. Ability to lift over 20 pounds and push/pull over 25 pounds regularly. Standing and walking for at least 10 hours per day is required.
