Job summary

SoftPath Medical is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery RN for our Level II Trauma Center. The role focuses on high-acuity surgical support in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases, with EMR proficiency (EPIC) and optional scrubbing experience.

Active RN license in Virginia (or compact), current BLS/ACLS required. On-call includes four weekday shifts and four weekend shifts monthly, with day and night coverage to service needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery with high-acuity surgical support.
• Proficiency in operating room procedures with circulating capability.
• EPIC EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity surgical support for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases.
• Scrub and/or circulate in multiple core service lines as needed.
• Utilize EPIC EMR in daily patient care and documentation.
• On-call duties as specified by unit policy.

Cardiothoracic Surgery RN Opportunity

Experience, Skills, Education, and License Requirements

• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery, including high-acuity surgical support for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases; scrubbing experience is beneficial but not mandatory
• Proficiency in general operating room procedures with the ability to circulate across core service lines
• Experience with EMR, specifically EPIC, is required
• Active, unrestricted RN license; must be valid in Virginia or part of the compact nursing license agreement
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required

On-Call Expectations

• Four weekday call shifts (Monday through Friday), covering from the end of shift until 7 a.m.
• Four weekend call shifts per month, covering both day (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and night (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) shifts on Saturday and Sunday

Unit Overview

This is a multi-service Level II Trauma Center featuring 15 operating suites, including one hybrid OR. The surgical team includes three cardiothoracic surgeons and five vascular surgeons.
