Job description
Hours are flexible - choose from 8 hr, 10 hr, or 12 hr shifts.
Multiple services which include: orthopedics, neurosurgery, general, GYN, urology, colorectal, podiatry, breasts, plastics, ENT, ophthalmology, and bariatrics.
State‑of‑the‑art operating rooms that have recently been upgraded with the newest versions of lights, booms, equipment, and integration systems.
Robotic surgeries for general, bariatrics, GYN, and urology utilizing our DaVinci Xi.
Robotic procedures for total joints utilizing Stryker’s Mako or Smith & Nephew’s Cori.
Multiple navigation systems to help with complex surgeries including the Stryker Q, BrainLab, and 7D, which all help provide safe patient care and improve patient outcomes.
One of the very few facilities in New England that has the Stryker Airo intraoperative CT machine for neurosurgery which pairs with the Q navigation.
Planning to add a second Q navigation system to support the neurosurgery volume, and it will include software to be utilized with ENT and orthopedics.
Working towards building an additional OR due to high surgical volume, along with purchasing the newest robot from Intuitive, the DaVinci V.
Responsibilities:
The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) cares for patients aged 6 months through adulthood who require surgical/invasive interventions.
Deliver nursing care by utilizing a patient‑centered approach incorporating the Professional Practice Model.
Provide patient‑centered care through teamwork and collaboration to achieve quality patient outcomes.
Integrate best practices and current evidence‑based practices for delivery of optimal health care.
Utilize data to improve quality and safety.
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited Nursing program.
Must have Operating Room experience.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to achieve the following competencies:
Within 30 Days: Basic Life Support
Within 90 Days: Safe Care & Handling of Surgical Equipment, Decontamination of Surgical Instrumentation, Scrubbing/Gowning/Gloving, Aseptic Technique, Circulating General Cases, Set up of OR Equipment (Microscope (surgical), Surgical light systems, Electrosurgical Units, Lasers, Orthopedic Systems, Specialty Surgery Tables)
