Job summary

McLaren Macomb is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Surgical Services team as an OR circulating RN. The role involves delivering quality nursing care, coordinating activities, and ensuring patient/family centered care on a 40-hour per pay period schedule (7am-3:30pm).

Requirements include Michigan RN license, BLS, ACLS by orientation end date, NRP for pediatrics, and at least one year of OR circulating experience. Preferred BSN and wound care certs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nursing program.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification from AHA/ARC or equivalent, required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.
• ACLS required by end of unit orientation for listed units.
• NRP certification required by end of unit orientation for PEDS.
• One year of related specialty care experience in an OR hospital setting as a circulating RN.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process. Works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Carries out functions according to hospital policy, the hospital mission, and standards of practice defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. Directs, coordinates and delegates activities in order to foster patient / family centered care.

Qualifications:

Required:

• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date


• ACLS required by end of unit orientation for CCL, PACU, ENDO, IR, ICU, ED, CDU, CSS, CSU, Ambulatory Surgery, and the Step-Down Unit


• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required by end of unit orientation for PEDS


• One-year related specialty care experience required inOR hospital setting as a circulating RN

• One-year related specialty care experience preferred for Cardiac Cath Lab, OR/PASS (Post Anesthesia Care Unit), IR (Interventional Radiology), ICU, Endo or Ambulatory Surgery.

Weekend/Holiday Requirements:

Operating Room day shift staff rotate working seven (7) afternoon weekend shifts and seven (7) midnight weekend shifts each four-week schedule, as assigned by inverse seniority.

All assigned holiday shifts shall be rotated among all Operating Room RN staff by inverse seniority
