Job summary

McLaren Macomb is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality nursing care in the Operating Room. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team, using the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within hospital policy and professional guidelines.

Direct, coordinate, and delegate activities to foster patient/family-centered care, while maintaining standards of practice and a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nursing program.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.
• ACLS required by end of unit orientation.
• NRP certification required by end of unit orientation.
• One-year related specialty care experience required in OR hospital setting as a circulating RN.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process. Works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Carries out functions according to hospital policy, the hospital mission, and standards of practice defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. Directs, coordinates and delegates activities in order to foster patient / family centered care.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nursing program.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.
• ACLS required by end of unit orientation for CCL, PACU, ENDO, IR, ICU, ED, CDU, CSS, CSU, Ambulatory Surgery, and the Step-Down Unit.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required by end of unit orientation for PEDS.
• One-year related specialty care experience required in OR hospital setting as a circulating RN.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Wound Care Certification (WCC/ WOCN /CWCA) if working in Wound Care Center – preferred. Wound Care Certification MUST BE OBTAINED WITHIN 12 MOS OF HIRE DATE.
• One-year related specialty care experience preferred for Cardiac Cath Lab, OR/PASS (Post Anesthesia Care Unit), IR (Interventional Radiology), ICU, Endo or Ambulatory Surgery.

Weekend/Holiday Requirements

Operating Room day shift staff rotate working seven (7) afternoon weekend shifts and seven (7) midnight weekend shifts each four-week schedule, as assigned by inverse seniority. All assigned holiday shifts shall be rotated among all Operating Room RN staff by inverse seniority.
