Job summary

Indiana University HealthFishers is seeking dedicated Scrub Nurses for the Operating Room to support surgical teams by preparing the OR, handling instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment for each procedure.

The role requires at least 1 year of OR experience; ASN is required, BSN preferred. Indiana RN license and BLS are required, with opportunities for on-call responsibilities and sign-on bonuses for eligible FTEs.

• Document procedures accurately and in accordance with hospital policy.

• Provide compassionate support to patients and their families before and after surgery.

Full-time roles are eligible for a sign on bonus (available through 9/30/2026). The amount is dependent upon FTE.

About the Role

We are currently seeking dedicated Scrub Nurses to join our Operating Room team at IU Health Fishers. In this vital role, you’ll support surgical teams by preparing the OR, managing instruments, and ensuring a safe, sterile environment for every procedure.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and gather necessary equipment and supplies.
• Select and pass surgical instruments to the surgeon during procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year OR experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Current Indiana RN license
• Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA required
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit specialty
• Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
