Registered Nurse - Operating Room

12H Day, 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Floating required, minimum every other weekend, on-call every 3rd-4th weekend and 1 night per week.
• Travelers must work 2 out of 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day/Eve.

Requirements:

• AHA BLS certification
• Circulating nurse experience required; scrub experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience
• NY license or proof of application; license processing takes 6-8 weeks
• EPIC experience within the past 2 years (non-negotiable)

Additional Information:

• IVS to be offered
• Schedule includes Monday to Sunday, bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
• No block scheduling; all employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Complete all work history details (bed count, EMR, facility type, etc.) in application

• Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November to April

Additional Details:

• Teaching hospital experience not required
• Trauma Level 3
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general and specialty areas
• Certifications: NY license, BLS; other certifications preferred but not required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1
• Circulating nurse required; scrub experience preferred
• Staff per shift includes OR aides, scrub techs, surgical assistants, RNs
• Orientation: 2 days
• Patient population includes all surgeries except cardiac, transplants, neuro, gastric bypass; ages 6 months to 100+
• Special equipment includes respiratory and anesthesia support available 24/7
• Start IVs, patient transports as needed
