Job summary

Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, SC seeks a part-time Registered Nurse - Operating Room. The nurse will plan and coordinate perioperative care, directing support staff while adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and hospital standards.

Must possess current South Carolina RN license; BLS prior to first shift and ACLS within 6 months of hire. Previous OR experience is preferred; this position is non-exempt and requires day shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a South Carolina Nursing License.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Current South Carolina RN license; BLS required before first clinical shift; ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate care for a group of patients in the OR.
• Direct ancillary personnel to support the patient's plan of care.

Description

The registered nurse at BMH supports the philosophy of nursing by planning and coordinating care for a group of patients within his/her area. This individual has the responsibility to direct ancillary personnel for implementation of the patient's plan of care and has satisfactorily mastered the basic skills in the assigned area. The scope of nursing practice is focused on an assigned group of patients and encompasses charge responsibilities as assigned. Performs within the limits of SC Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for nurses, hospital policies and procedures, and Nursing Standards of Practice.

Position Requirements

Education

• Ability to obtain and maintain a South Carolina Nursing License

Experience

• Previous experience preferred.

Certifications / Licenses

• Current South Carolina RN license.
• BLS certification required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
