Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a registered nurse with hematology/oncology experience to join a multi-site clinic team. You will assess patients, verify medications, and administer chemotherapy and supportive care in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include documenting in EMR, triaging calls, providing patient education, and ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA/NIOSH guidelines. Travel between clinic locations and occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • RN license in the relevant state
  • CPR and BLS certifications current
  • Nursing degree completed
  • Valid driver’s license for travel between clinics
  • Experience with hematology/oncology patients in clinic or hospital settings
  • Proven critical thinking, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work calmly in emergencies
  • Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
  • Proficiency with MS Office and EMR systems
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Availability Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; overtime/weekend as needed

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and review lab results and vital signs

  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non-oncologic agents
  • Follow Oncology Nursing Society standards and guidelines
  • Dispose of biohazardous waste according to OSHA/NIOSH
  • Provide patient education, assessment, and support
  • Document treatment in electronic medical record
  • Capture medication and activity charges
  • Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and treatment plans
  • Provide telephone triage and prioritize calls/messages
  • Assist with medical supply inventory and purchasing recommendations
  • Complete safety and nursing trainings and attend staff meetings
  • Maintain patient and employee confidentiality
  • Train new employees on job duties per Job Breakdown Instructions
  • Work at multiple locations as needed and overtime with notice
  • Comply with laws and company policies

Job description

  • Assess patients and review laboratory results and vital signs

  • Provide new and ongoing patient education, assessment, and support
  • Document treatment accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record
  • Capture appropriate medication and activity charges
  • Follow proper patient identification procedures
  • Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and treatment plans
  • Provide telephone triage and prioritize incoming calls and messages
  • Assist with medical supply inventory, restocking, and purchasing recommendations
  • Complete required safety and nursing trainings and attend mandatory staff meetings
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information
  • Train new employees on job duties according to Job Breakdown Instructions
  • Work at any Company location as needed and work overtime when given sufficient notice
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects
  • Comply with applicable federal and state laws and Company policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Nursing Degree
  • Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi-state license
  • Current CPR and BLS certifications
  • Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
  • Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting
  • Ability to assess patient needs and condition
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness
  • Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and emotionally charged matters
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • EMR proficiency
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM availability; occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be required
