- Assess patients and review laboratory results and vital signs
- Ensure medication safety, dose verification, and accurate drug administration
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non-oncologic agents
- Follow Oncology Nursing Society standards and guidelines
- Dispose of biohazardous waste according to OSHA and NIOSH guidelines
- Provide new and ongoing patient education, assessment, and support
- Document treatment accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record
- Capture appropriate medication and activity charges
- Follow proper patient identification procedures
- Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and treatment plans
- Provide telephone triage and prioritize incoming calls and messages
- Assist with medical supply inventory, restocking, and purchasing recommendations
- Complete required safety and nursing trainings and attend mandatory staff meetings
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information
- Train new employees on job duties according to Job Breakdown Instructions
- Work at any Company location as needed and work overtime when given sufficient notice
- Perform other assigned duties and projects
- Comply with applicable federal and state laws and Company policies and procedures
Requirements
- Nursing Degree
- Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi-state license
- Current CPR and BLS certifications
- Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting
- Ability to assess patient needs and condition
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness
- Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and emotionally charged matters
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- EMR proficiency
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM availability; occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be required
