- Provide safe, accurate, and efficient patient care
- Assess patients and review labs and vital signs
- Ensure medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non-oncologic agents
- Follow Oncology Nursing Society standards and guidelines
- Dispose of biohazardous waste according to OSHA and NIOSH guidelines
- Provide new and ongoing patient education, continual patient assessment, and support
- Document treatment accurately and timely in the EMR
- Capture appropriate charges for medication administration and activities
- Follow proper patient identification procedures
- Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and treatment plans
- Perform telephone triage and prioritize incoming calls and messages
- Assist with inventory and restocking of medical supplies
- Complete required safety and nursing trainings and attend mandatory staff meetings
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information
- Assist in training new employees
- Work at any company location as needed
- Perform other assigned duties and projects
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
Requirements
- Nursing Degree
- Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi-state license
- Current CPR and BLS certifications
- Valid Driver's License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting
- Ability to assess patient needs and condition
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, planning, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and emotionally charged matters
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- EMR proficiency
- Travel requirement of less than 25%
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM availability
