Job summary

Mental Health Association of Rochester in Denver, CO is seeking a skilled registered nurse to join our Oncology Care Coordination team. The role involves performing professional nursing duties, assessing patients, developing care plans, triaging, and administering treatments including IV therapy.

You will advocate for patients, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate care across services while traveling between Denver/Boulder clinics as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of RN experience, including oncology within the past five years.
  • Graduate of an approved RN program with clinical experience supervised by faculty or preceptors.
  • Current RN license, BLS certification, and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification.
  • Strong customer service, critical thinking, IV, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety, quality, and emergency protocols, ensuring patient safety during medication administration, procedures, infection control, and fall prevention.
  • Collect and evaluate health data to identify problems and plan appropriate care.
  • Prioritize patient needs, triage in person or via phone, and follow established protocols or consult with providers.
  • Evaluate emergencies and initiate suitable interventions.
  • Provide health teaching and counseling to patients and families.
  • Execute delegated medical functions, including medication administration and therapy, following legal and clinical guidelines.
  • Coordinate care, manage patient populations, and support healthcare teams by modeling effective nursing practices.
  • Advocate for patients and facilitate referrals to medical or community resources when needed.

Role Overview

This position involves practicing professional nursing by performing both independent and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted standards. Key duties include assessing patient health, developing care plans, triaging patients, providing health education, and administering treatments such as intravenous therapy and medications.
