Job summary

Novant Health’s Cancer Clinic in Kernersville, NC is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse to provide infusion care, monitor treatments, and support patients through their cancer journey.

You’ll triage calls, document in the EMR, educate patients in plain language, and collaborate with physicians to tailor care plans with compassion and respect.

Required NC RN license (compact acceptable), BSN preferred, 1–2 years oncology experience; encouraged to pursue Oncology Certification within 30 months.

Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or compact state license.
• BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years oncology nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Triage calls and document information in the EMR.
• Infusion room administration of chemotherapy.
• Rooming of patients and assisting physicians with treatment needs.
• Explain all processes to patients in plain language and use teach-back to ensure understanding.
• Dialogues with patients and support system to tailor individualized care plans.

Key Points:

• Triage calls as needed and document the information in the patients EMR.
• Infusion Room administration of chemotherapy

• Dialogues with the patient/chosen support system to identify what is important to them and incorporate his/her preferences and norms into the individualized care plan.

What We’re Looking For:

• RN licensure in NC or compact state
• Nursing degree from an accredited program (BSN preferred)
• Minimum of one to two years nursing experience, preferably in an oncology environment, required.
• Willingness to earn your Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) within 30 months
