Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse RN to provide and coordinate evidence-based care across the patient care continuum, aligned with our mission and standards. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, while mentoring teammates and contributing to operational efficiency.

Qualifications include an ASN with active Indiana RN license (BSN preferred), BLS, and unit-specific life support certifications as required.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Active Indiana RN license or NLC license.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Candidates with >2 years acute care experience may be considered with review by the CNO.
• BLS certification; additional life support certifications may be required per unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate evidence-based care along the care continuum.
• Participate in decision-making, teaching, mentoring and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate patient outcomes to improve care and efficiency.

Overview

The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision‑making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
• Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program
• Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two (2) years of acute care experience; such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Additional advanced life support certifications may be required based on unit or department specialty
