Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse (RN) to deliver and coordinate evidence-based care across the patient care continuum in Indiana. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient outcomes while mentoring others and upholding ethical standards.

Active Indiana RN license or NLC, BLS, and an accredited nursing program are required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC required.
• BLS certification required; other advanced life support as needed.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate evidence-based nursing care across the care continuum.
• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with the multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in decision-making, teaching, and mentoring to advance the patient plan of care.
• Adhere to ANA standards and the Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Overview

The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
• Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program
• Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two (2) years of acute care experience; such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Additional advanced life support certifications may be required based on unit or department specialty
