Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ER, Operating Room and Medical-Surgical areas to join the Nursing Education department on a full-time night shift. The role delivers comprehensive patient care following nursing processes and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a Texas RN license, CPR, ACLS, NPR and PALS certifications within required timeframes, with BSN preferred and ADN considered with BSN

Qualifications

• Current Texas or compact RN license to practice in Texas.
• Current CPR certification required.
• ACLS training required within 1 year for critical care areas, Labor/Delivery and Antepartum.
• NPR training required within 1 year for Mother/Baby, Well Baby Nursery, Labor and Delivery, and Antepartum.
• PALS training required within 1 year for Endoscopy, Emergency, Cath Lab/IR, OR, Recovery, Ambulatory Surgical Unit and Urgent Care.

Responsibilities

Job Summary
Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.

4. 4. NPR training is required within 1 year of being in the department for the following areas: Mother/Baby, Well Baby Nursery, Labor and Delivery, and Antepartum.
5. 5. PALS training is required within 1 year of being in the department for the following areas: Endoscopy, Emergency, Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology, Operating Room, Recovery, Ambulatory Surgical Unit and the Urgent Care.

Education and Training
Bachelor degree in Nursing is required. May consider ADN, but must obtain BSN within three years of date of hire.
