RN PRN days in the ER department.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse in the ER department, you will provide patient‑centered care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will coordinate and deliver high‑quality care based on clinical protocols and physician orders, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes while maintaining a supportive environment for patients and families.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate and deliver patient‑centered care in accordance with policies and the nursing process.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately, reporting changes to the appropriate team.
  • Use knowledge of human growth and development to provide age‑appropriate care and education.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor for side effects, and document administration per standards.
  • Assist physicians during procedures within competency and skill level.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and participate in life‑saving interventions, such as CPR and code team activities.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs, ensuring voices are heard in care planning.
  • Provide patient and family education on conditions, treatment plans, and post‑discharge care.
  • Implement infection control protocols to prevent healthcare‑associated infections.
  • Monitor and operate medical equipment (IV pumps, monitors, ventilators) as needed.
  • Promote patient safety by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Participate in audits, chart reviews, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Demonstrate responsible decision‑making in planning, delegating, and providing care.
  • Document patient care and education thoroughly and promptly.
  • Engage in professional development to maintain clinical competency.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Emergency Services RN
    • Rapid Assessment and Triage
    • Conduct emergency procedures such as intubation, wound care, and suturing.
    • Stabilize patients with medications, IV lines, and respiratory support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain reliable attendance.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • 0–2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical practices.
  • Ability to conduct thorough assessments and communicate findings.
  • Proficient in medication administration and side‑effect monitoring.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement.
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN – Registered Nurse – State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required.
  • BCLS – Basic Life Support required.
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
  • NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation preferred.
