Job summary

The State of Michigan is seeking an intermittent Registered Nurse for Michigan Veteran Homes to provide direct member care on one or more nursing units, including medication pass and treatments.

The role involves comprehensive assessments, coordinating long-term care planning for a defined member load, and supervising LPNs and care aides as needed. This non-career position is limited to 129 hours per month and 1,040 hours per year and is not eligible for benefits.

Qualifications

• Possession of a nursing degree accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
• Active Michigan RN license in good standing.
• No specific clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to members on one or more nursing units.
• Administer medications and perform treatments as delegated.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and coordinate long-term care planning.
• Monitor and direct LPNs and care aides in delegated activities.
• Subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

This is a Non-Career position. Position is limited to 129 hours per calendar month and 1,040 hours per calendar year. This position is not eligible for benefits. This position is intended for intermittent use when a career Registered Nurse employee is unavailable.

Responsible for the direct care of members on one or more nursing units, including medication pass and treatments. Conducts comprehensive assessments of members needs and coordinates the long-term planning of care for a specific member case load. Monitors and directs LPNs and care givers in providing delegated nursing activities as needed. This position is test-designated and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Education

Possession of a diploma, associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.

Experience

Possession of a Michigan license in good standing as a registered nurse.
