Mercyhealth in Rockford, IL is seeking a registered nurse to provide safe, personalized care during night shifts. You will assess patients, administer medications, develop and implement care plans, and document actions.

You will collaborate with physicians and the care team, educate patients and families, participate in quality improvement, and ensure compliance with licensure and safety standards. ADN/BSN preferred; RN license required.

• ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days.

• Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.
• Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process.

OVERVIEW

This role provides safe, personalized nursing care by assessing patients, giving medications and treatments, and creating care plans based on each patient's needs. The nurse works with doctors and other healthcare staff, educates patients and families, documents care, and responds to safety concerns. They also help improve patient care and support other staff through their nursing knowledge and experience.

SCHEDULE: 36-hours per week

SHIFT: Nights

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.

May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify (per department guidelines)

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Licensed as an RN in state of practice

Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days

Other certification(s) per unit requirements. For example : ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRP
